So.. I failed emissions.

Went to get my first emissions test with the RB today. Let me just get straight to the results:

Test-------- Reading--------------LimitHC----------90.3ppm-------------132.0CO ---------.26%---------------.73NO----------237.4ppm ------- 945.0

Looks good right? Now you ask, how did i fail? Pressurization of gas cap. Yes, I said pressurization of gas cap. I failed because they could not get a reading on the pressure my gas cap can hold. The guy doing the test could not understand why i was happy when my car had failed.

Quickie question, what did you have done to the exhaust system to pass, ie. which cat did you use, etc.

I used a 2001 Maxima catalytic converter on mine and I just failed the NO. Reading was 1337 and allowed is 945. I just bolted the cat on this morning and drove around for about an hour. It had been sitting for about 1-2 years, so it may be that. Anyways, chime in if you can....

I have an Eastern Cat off ebay. 3". i can try and find you the link if you want it. I had to have my exhaust cut a little then welded the cat to it.

Trust me, i didn't do it for the environment. It was just a way to help lower the exhaust noise, besudes the fact that i couldn't pass emissions without it
