So removing the valve covers these fittings were brittle as hell and they crumbled at the slightest pressure to get the hose off.

In my research it seems nissan doesn't sell this and the only offical way to repair it is to replace the whole valve cover. Thats super expensive. Does anyone know how I can fix it? I'm thinking about drilling it out and tapping some threads and replacing it with an aftermarket fitting. Does anyone have any experience with this? How possible is my solution?

If its just a hose port then your plan sounds pretty good to me but I'm no engine expert.

An alternative option is I found a set of used Valve covers off of a G35 Coupe with the VQ35DE. They valve cover part numbers are different, but, the gasket is the same and in pictures they look nearly identical. I have no idea how to figure out if they'll work other than to just pull the trigger and hope for the best. Any one know if I can get away with G35 Valve Covers?

Your initial idea seemed sound. I've seen brass fittings and epoxy used on intakes.
topic607238-30.html#p6704421, if you like pictures.

As for the g35 cover, one thing I'd check is the part numbers of the pathy vs g35 coilpacks (hopefully the same) just to ensure that your originals won't bottom out or dangle too high due to the wrong valve cover.
I believe that some 02 i35 valve covers i had in my possession looked very similar to my qx4 VCs. Good luck

Thanks bud much appreciated. I did more research on the G35 VC's and they were in fact different in enough ways where I didn't want to mess with it. So I'm back to the whole drilling/tapping/aftermarket fitting idea. I dont mind doing that, I'm just trying to make sure I use either the right rubbber washers to ensure it fitss snuggly or somehow in some other way to ensure its air tight. The other concern I have is making sure I get the right type of fitting, you said brass so I'll look into it, but if this stuff is anything like plumbing I gotta be careful as to what I use since the VC's are plastic, I need something that will work with it. I dont want aluminum or something else not working well due to expansion and contraction under hot/cold. I dont know really what would be best but I need to look into it.

Open to suggestions if anyone's got any. I'm considering something like this... https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ear- ... /overview/
