lol i don't know why but i went and bought this car today lol. one driver non smoker old azz secretary lady! looks like you guys are right this car was for secretaries lol! I like it but ehhh i don't have the time to swap anything into it i think i will sell her after a while if it doesn't grow on me! Like all other verts this one needs a new back "glass" Plastic or is it the complete top? How much do those run for? Found a complete one for 450 and that's pretty expensive! If you see the spoiler paint gone a little bit, its from me going so fast that the cars paint started to chip off lol.

clean it lol!!!! See what i can do for the roof, pop a damn cd player with nice speakers, better rims and tires since the car has cracked rubber on it. If it grows on me probably a supercharged VH45 with z32 transmission built to handle 500+ hp. The car feels cheap and heavy hopefully it grows on me.

Looks good, what did it run ya? Yes, you can buy just the plastic. If memory serves me it's right around 150. An average price for a top; including window is 400

That's identical to my brother's but in much better shape. It was tremendously reliable and was sold to a good home.

Welcome to the Vert Forums. Clean car. With a little TLC she can shine. The Verts are great DD, but with a little effort can become some fun Weekend Warriors. The top complete (back window and top) goes for around $400 and like 180 for just the back window. I got mine from these folks http://www.topsonline.com/ . They were really great to deal with and I had my top in a few days. I opted to go with a tan top to be different, but there are a few colors available, along with the traditional Black. Make sure to get the Stayfast fabic (holds up better in all weather - plastic/vinyl dislikes cold climates). Rims are personal choice. I swapped to 5-lug to open up choices, but many rims companies are making some nice 4-luggers now with some good offsets. Hopefully you'll fall in love with her. It's always fun to pull up next to a Miata, or almost any small convertible and have the top down and my kids in the back. Kinda blows them away. Welcome again and make sure to hit the registry and add to the list. There are some production numbers just FYI so you can appreciate the rareness. Good luck and keep us posted.... oh yea.. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I found this on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

It's just the rear curtain (rear window) and it stayfast canvas. It's only $54 and $20 shipping. If they top is in good condition I would just replace the rear curtain...a lot less expensive. I'm not sure about the maker or seller but if you want to go the cheapest route this would be it.

Gammer.. very nice my friend. Welcome to the 'vert club.

Your first impression of cheap and heavy will wear off and you'll learn to love it. The cheap part is because they have the worst door panels EVER! You can swap to coupe doors or cut up the insides of the vert door and fit regular 240 panels to them.. that's a HUGE improvement.

A set of S14 seats is also a major upgrade.

The heavy... well... that's tough to overcome unless you ditch the entire top assembly. The rest of the weight is good weight to have because it's extra bracing to stiffen up the chassis.

Anyhow... welcome to the 'vert club. Glad to have you aboard. Let us know if you need any help or advice.

i like the car now but im working on the radiator at the moment. As far as the top goes i think ill fab something up for it. The seat belts don't lock or respond when i brake is that normal? the back seat is useless to me since im 6'3 270 pounds. lol a convertible should always be a 2 seater with a little spot in the back that you can put your stuff in there!

She drinks gas by the way! from 3/4 tank to 1/4 tank only gave me 140miles. i understand that i took her up to angels creast by is it normal for these babies to drink it up?

Thanks guys for the support very nice of you guys!

You should be getting better gas mileage than that. Most of us get 300 miles to a tank with moderately fun driving. Not sure what I'd get if I didn't take it to red line at EVERY standstill.

Could also be the 270 extra pounds she's carrying

Give the belt a quick tug; it should lock. If not; you have issues there. Ever figured out exactly how many miles to the gallon you get? It can be hard to know without. Fill up your tank, re set the tripometer (or make note of what the odometer reads) burn up some fuel (drive at least a hundred miles) then filler up again and divide the tripometer by how much fuel you put in. I get 25-26mpg. I don't beat on it much, cause it's slow

Wow, really. You can take care of the seat belts. Yeah it's slow; engine swap or boost can solve that problem. It's a small car yes. What did you put 800 toward?

Lol she is up for sale now $3500 Or best offer.

Reason for selling? I don't fit in the damn thing, the door is touching me at all times and its small with no back seats. She just passed smog too so governmental your fine for 2 more years in Cali.
