Just like the topic title says, I basically gave up on my J. I still have it, but am not going to drop money into it. I took the rims off since I park it outside. For my new toy, I bought myself a 2001 Mazda Miata. That car is great, and very different from the J, I'll tell you. I'll post some pictures of it when I transfer the pictures from my phone to the computer.

Why couldn't more people make parts for this car?

What'd you want to do with it?

I know of a handful of modded J30's in the US... Not real common, but just like those of us who have modded Q45's you gotta be industrious.

or resourceful.. finding how to get jdm parts could help.

as mentioned, they arent on the same level as 240s or civics.. but thats the beauty of having a different ride.

i understand, my m30 didnt have stuff, i just get stuff from Japan.

i agree, if there were companies that made all these mods. and everyone would start using these mods, it would soon seem standard. so thats why a real "mod" is something that you fabricated in your mind and/or on your car. but mainly ur car.

It was never meant to be a "tuner" car, and sales volume wouldn't support an after-market for those few who want to do it. The car weighs too much, the motor's relatively too small, and it's a 4-door sedan. They cost too much for most of the kids wanting a project car. The money for making parts is in things like Hondas.

as i do agree on most parts i just wonder why people keep saying its too heavy of a car if you look at the 5.0 they weigh almost 3800 pounds and horsepower wise (stock of course) they are close and for being expensive you can get the j for any were from 1500 to 3000 in good shape on ebay any thing older newer then 97 on the hondas you'll have a hard time getting that quality for that price
