No, there wasnt an accident...

I was heading to a friends house via the freeway, and some blue car speeds up behind me, pulls up to my window, then proceeded to pull out a gun and scream for me to pull the car over NOW!!!

I was like, wtf is that a gun?? When I saw that it was, I dropped 2 gears to 3rd, turned off my 240 lights and gunned it.. I quickly reached 148mph (GPS verified) and continued with no lights traveling at that speed for about 3.4 miles until my friends exit came up... by then I had lost the other car and pulled off, turning my lights on after I took the exit..

I had my gun on me, but I also had a passenger, the other car TRIED keeping up but couldnt - must have hit his governor...

We have good castle laws where I live, so I couldve opened fire on him legally but I didnt want a firefight... I had plenty of room to accelerate even more but I thought 148 was enough haha, I actually slowed to 140 after a large turn on the highway...

When I got off the highway I reported the incident to the police... not much they could do with "blue car 2 white males, one with gun" though...

Eek!

Glad to hear you were safe! Any idea what the other car was? other than 'blue'?

+1 for being smart and not continuing into a firefight. This is reality, not a movie / TV show.

Jeeeezus! That is the craziest RB-related story I have heard! Good call on turning the lights off too.

In case of emergency evasion, I've considered putting a switch on my brake lights to be able to turn them off so I can brake without them lighting up.

question... did the idea of the turning off your lights come from watching Initial D ??? That was the first thing i thought of when I read your reaction.

Crazy story...

I'd bet they wanted the car, and figured they would rather have you pull over and take the keys.

wow, quick thinking. Good thing you did have you gun just in case you blew off a ic hose or someting, having a CHL in todays world seems to more justified day to day.

hmm, there should be a sticky for interesting RB related stories on here.

Thats what I have going on. When i put HIDs in my car I put them on a switch so I can have headlights but no taillights... Never had that happen though...

Well, I didnt want the other car to see how far ahead I was getting which is why I killed the lights... the moon was enough to light up the white stripes on the road...

Blue acura or something like that... It was quick, I would say maybe pushing between 160 and 180 horses..

My intercooler piping has come off before, but that was when I was running the temporary PVC piping (which melted to become smaller which caused it to pop off) and I just got the ebay hot pipe which was supposed to be for an R32 RB20DET but ended up being for an R33 (4 inches too short, but I used my wet exhaust hose which holds like 10psi easily)

I just put my new radiator in = no getting hot on highway (before if I went over the speed limit it would go a line above and make me have to turn on the heat)I just put power steering in too lol..And I just put that pipe on!!!Oh, and this was like 3 days after a fresh oil change and oil filter!!!!!!

EDIT: And I just filled up my tires to 35psi the day before!!!!!!

Great RB story.

Nice thinking on the lights too. That probably wouldnt have worked in MIA all the highways are litup like crazy. Glad your ok.

Im waiting on my car to get out of the shop, but im going to put a nice pop up compatrment under my steering wheel for my piece. out here in SOFLA it gets hectic..

just keep a good lookout for a suspicous car no matter what color after this , out here there has been cases of some focks that choose a cirtain area and keep doing it till either they get caught or they get poped off on, or move on to another spot.

I had room to go faster but I saw the gps speed and thought yeah, like that acura can keep up with that!!!

And, the popups wouldnt go down either due to so much wind resistance!!!! You could HEAR the wind deflecting off of the lights..

Thats a sweet story.

I personally dont think very rationally and probably would have hit the brakes instead of accelerated lol! At least you are smart enough to roll hot.

Man, joe(kamin) will be mad when he sees this thread lol.

Funny story.... I had something similar happen to me a few years ago when i had a KA24DE and posted it on my local forums.

We were at a gas station and a guy attempted rob me, ( i was only 18 at the time) and i pushed him off me and ran to my car and hopped in and fired it up and punched it out of there, i dont ever think i've ran that fast or got into reverse that fast. He got in his Pontiac Gran prix or beretta... some old 90's piece of crap and chased me 3 miles down to the highway where i got on.

He tried to keep up with me but i pulled him for quite some time, and hit about 110 and let off. He caught up about 3 minutes later. Tried side swiping me 5 times and i dodged every single time ( 300zx brakes ) I couldn't get around him and there werent any offramps for 4 miles. So did the exact same thing you did but a little differently.

I almost rear ended him when he slammed on his brakes and right as my front bumper about kissed his rear bumper i turned the lights off and kept the brakes floored untill i came to a complete stop and turned off into the shoulder, except he stopped as well... stale mate for 10 minutes.... it sucked, i had no idea what to do so i just launched the car as soon as i saw his door open, the chase continued and he caught up with me one last time and tried ramming me one last time but he did it on a bend in the highway and missed me once again and slammed right into the wall going about 80 miles an hour.

His car spun several times and **** went flying everywhere. I called 911 once i had got grip of myself because i almost wrecked watching everything in my rear view mirror as the car unfolded itself on the concrete barrier.

I said i had witnessed an accident at said mile marker and to send an ambulance etc etc and i got the **** out of of there as fast as i could.

I was young and stupid but i couldnt think of anything but to drive as fast as i could and get away from that guy and, in your case, speeding is dangerous as **** but there isnt any other choice when your life is at stake from a maniac after your car and your life.

When that **** is at stake as long as there arent any other people on the road ( if you're that fortunate ) **** the traffic laws, because abiding by those at that time will most likely end up in you getting killed anyways in those circumstances.

Jesus christ that was a long post. I figured i'd share...RB POWER FTW.

Legally you are allowed to flee in a situation like that... I couldve legally put a bullet in his head and in the head of the driver, but I am not that violent...

I do have experience with speed, the fastest I have ever driven in a car is about 160mph in Germany :-) since I lived there for 7 years... I rode in a car that was doing 170mph too.
