Wow, fake brake templates. I wonder if you just bolt them between the disc and the wheel?

I think so, I just had to snap a pic before he drove off. Considering the condition of the rest of the car (Ugly body kit, worse graphics and bright blue paint) that actually caught my eye as soon as he rolled up next to me.

I think this is just as retarded.

Ive seen it in a mag while i was in a dr office... its something apparently to catch brake dust to keep the wheels clean... not meant to look like any sort of brake

But...its drilled....like rotors...
Drilled dust catchers improve cooling too or summin?

They're just covers that go between the wheel and the rotor to keep dust to a minimum. They have holes drilled in them because if they didn't, the brakes would overheat and they'd be useless. Much like the driver behind the wheel of that car.

nope, they're fake slotted/drilled rotors. There no getting around it :rotfl

Why anyone would put such trash on there car is beyond me. I have spent some time in the past couple of days studying brake rotor designs and anything like that can't help the brakes. I would rather see painted drums to that trash. I do wonder what that fake huge rotor "Brake dust shield" is made of, And if it can withstand the temperatures 100+ *F if not I for see trouble.

Not keeping your wheels clean are for the lazy people, Why don't they just get full face wheels...

And it looks like a chick is driving so she probably doesn't know any better, I blame the man in her life.

They still look like fake drilled rotors. Lame. Unless in improves airflow to the brakes to help with cooling, then GTFO.

They're usually made of stamped steel that's no thicker than 1/16" so heat transfer isn't a huge issue. Though they can get quite warm, they're thin enough to dissipate the heat quickly when driving.

So, what you're saying is they are thin and therefore good at dissipating their own heat, which means they still add to the overall temperature in and around the brakes themselves.

So you put more heat and wear on your pads to keep brake dust to a minimum? Seems counter-active....

They don't heat up of their own accord. They heat up because of the temperatures associated with the braking system. I never said I recommended them. They're just for lazy people who don't like to put forth the effort to clean their wheels. :gotme

I understand they don't heat up all by themselves, they heat up due to the braking system itself. The problem there is that with more components heating up and no additional airflow, it increases the overall temperature around the brakes, thus affecting brake performance.

Granted, I guess the people who buy this kind of crap don't care about brake fade anyway....

My Brembos got hot enough at MMP to change the color of the paint from gold to purple.

Then again, that POS in the picture will NEVER see a track. :)

It wasnt the girl driving, she was the passenger. It was a guy driving the car.

Still looks like a stupid way to make your car look like it has drilled rotors. Kind of like how those huge LED sidemarkers at autozone add safety to your car. And if you look at the picture of the mustang, it doesn't even have holes in it
