Some idiot the other day in his huge @$$ cadillac decided to put gas facing my V and thought he would inch along until he touched my car. Well now I have a stress mark and a paint scuff on my front bumper, and so far 2 estimates from big name shops, one at $600 and the other at $1500 for a 5 inch stress and a 20mm diameter paint scuff. On the positive side, I went to the dealer for them to replace my driver window moulding that was damaged when I bought the car, and the driver side window switch . . . (SHHH! lol) and had them put the aluminum kick plates for FREE since they were on my sticker for $90 but not on the car??? Yea u better pay for them! haha. But now I gotta get my bumper fixed.

So hopefully this jackhole or his insurance company will be paying for this incident?

Why would you NOT go through his insurance company in the first place. If he decides to be a jerk about it then you have nothing but hassles. I know that here (BC) if there is a claim made against you the insurace company give you the option of paying out the claim so it won't affect your insurance. So the guy could pay his insurance company instead of you, and you get your car fixed with no hassle. Perhaps that option isn't available there.

I agree with the above poster. Go through his insurance company (I hope you got the info when it happened). It'll save many potential headaches in the future.

That being said, good score on the window switch!

Your experience is one thing that really worries me about getting a new car. Right now, nobody hits my 16 year old VW because they're afraid it'll damage their car, and not make mine look any different. With a new car, I'm not sure I'll be as lucky.
