my car is destined to never hit more then 4psi!!!

i thought i had a boost leak form my intake manifold gasket, took off the whole intake manifold, changed all the gaskets, eliminated all emission crap form the obd2 manifold, cracked my thermostat housing in the process only to still hit 4psi still!!

wtf? i cant figure it out, i just want to get rid of the car now. i have a new tial wastegate on a 7psi spring and a mbc that is cranked up, i should be hitting 10 psi and im only getting 4!!

i went too two shop fixed all the leaks they said to and still only 4psi, where is it leaking form, i see it hit 5-6 psi initially and tapers off the 4..

wastegate source is directly from the turbo im so stumped... i have no vac lines dangling around, fmic pipes are good and tight. no holes, i dont know anymore.

this problem has happened since january its now june, i know the car has potiental to be fast but it just donest want to. im so frustrated if i dont resolve this by august im selling the damm car and getting a 350z. and calling it a day.. im sick of working on this damm car and not getting no returns,,,

I think i remember a bit about your problem.. You did try disconnecting the wastegate right?

Have you checked your turbo's wheels? First, take your intake off and check for play. Next, loosen the bolts that hold the exhaust housing to the center cartridge. Take the turbo out of the exhaust housing and check the turbine.

I roached an ebay turbo once and it did this exact same thing, just wouldnt make boost. Took it apart and my turbine was toasted, even though when it was inside the housing looking at it from the back you really couldnt tell there was much if any damage.

Use a vac source from the intake. But do like already suggested, disconnect the wastegate line and see if she boosts.

well took it to a shop, put a smoke machine on it, turns out to be the injector o ring on the #1 cylnder that is leaking, that should solve the problem now i have to change it.

its always the weirdest problems with my car.. wtf??

on the up side got a quote for a machine shop, 1500 to balance and assemble the motor with a port and polish. so looks like im going to be building my ka soon!!

It seems like you have a case of blown turbo denial....

A tiny boost leak is not going to cause a freaken t4 turbo to only create 4 psi of boost dude, come on.

Then you have a wastegate problem. Not making boost is a realllyyyy simple issue, theres very few things that can cause this situation.

Maybe if your wastegate is reading boost from the turbo and your boost gauge is reading boost from the manifold, you are losing a few PSI between? Basically maybe the wastegate thinks the car IS operating at 7psi or whatever. Then again maybe not I'm just throwing ideas out there. I suggest you hook the wastegate up to the same vac source as the boost controller (if you haven't already).

well im going to fix the injector o-ring, and then take the vac souce form the vac block.

makes sense it will open 7psi when the intake see it, i just want to boost 10psi and feel power again..
