Was better than I expected with the automatic transmission:

60': 2.100330: 5.8671/8: 8.967 @ 79.141000: 11.6301/4: 13.861 @ 100.76

Well done! Those results are great and they seem about right for 330 HP ride. I keep saying it as well, if i have to buy a G-37, i would buy the automatic transmission----seems more responsive than its manual transmission version. However, I don't know if it is as reliable as its manual transmission siblings----with and/or without a power adder.

Automatic did great. Shifts were at redline and firm.

After test driving the manual transmission G-37, i felt the transmission was way much higher in capacity than the engine---mismatch in my opinion. The engine appeared way too underpowered for the very beefed up G-37 manual transmission. The G-37 manual transmission could handle an engine with over 400 horsepower without any issues. I would dare say that it is more beefed up than the G-35 manual transmission. And then the shifting is even shorter than that of the G-35---almost no need for a short shifter in a G-37 manual transmission.

If I had my way, i would twin turbo a G-35 Coupe engine and then install the transmission of a G-37 manual transmission. This set up will awaken a true beast.

5 runs. Beat a late-90's vette due to reaction time only and a modified mustang because he broke up during his run. Lost to a '72 Cutlass, a SC Mustang and cnichols LS1 240sx.

Once the day wore on I lost traction as the last two runs (14.4 and 14.0) resulted in lots of wheel spin due to all the "pro-style" cars laying a ton of rubber down. Now that I know the sweet spot for launch (brake torque to 2000-2200rpm) I feel I may have been able to get a 18.7 during an early run.

There was a stock 335i at the track as well and we talked a bit. He was having problems with traction control fully releasing during launch and was running 13.7-ish with a high speed of just over 103.

Actually, looking at my slips, the above was not my best time...Best time was actually a 13.835

60': 2.128330: 5.8901/8: 8.972 @ 80.021000: 11.6201/4: 13.835 @ 101.89

How'd I miss that???? FWIW, the fastest run was the first run of the day and my first time running the G at a strip. Knowing what I do now I should easily be able to pull off a 13.7 time if I go before there is a lot of rubber laid down.

Here's the slip. I'm car 35 and car 6 was the Vette so I guess me beating him was not simply RT:

I know there is a vid of me lining up against Chris but that is the one I over brake-torqued off the line and got the 14.4 so I don't know if it's worth anything.

I completely agree with you on the vette. I once went at it with a vette and all he did was spin his wheel like crazy and his reaction time wasn't as great either. I think i have a post on that encounter somewhere. Some factors that can affect performance timed runs.

1. response time

2. Wheel spin and tire grip

3. wheel size

4. heat soak, humdity, etc.

He hooked pretty well....

Response time has nothing to do with your ET as the clock does not start until you leave the line. Reaction time can simply give someone a win when they in fact had a slower run. In the case of the vette, he had a better 60' and 1/8th yet I had a better overall time (did better in the last 1/8th) and would have beat him even if my RT was not better than his.

Why would the clock start differently for two cars dragging? If thats the case, then each car can drag on their own without a need to show off with other cars, isn't it? Response matters a great deal, however you might feel about it. Each drag strip from what i understand, have their own rules.

There is 2 point on the drag strip. Get a good car right beside yours and try to beat it and try to beat the time.

One car can be faster and end up in the finish line as second.

Response does not matter to ET times. I didn't say RT didn't mean something in regards to winning a race. A few of my races I didn't pay much attention to the tree but was focusing on other things. Now, if I was actually not doing test and tune then I would have been all over the light.

I won't run it again until I get some mods done or next spring sometime. DR's would def cut the time down but by how much I have no idea.

Cool, you got my first run on the side with the working timer

For some reason I thought that was a 18.9 run which is why I didn't mind taking the left lane the rest of the day as I thought I was faster on it.

Oh well

That is a great picture!!!

I need to take a road trip to LA just to run a sea level. My best time was at my best Phoenix DA of 2286 feet
