I don't think my mother was meant to drive...lol.

I love this qx4 but were having really dumb problems with it and we havent had it a week or so now.

Check engine light came on the other day and I had it code tested and it stated:

-EVAP system small leak/no flow condition. Possible reasons....Loose gas cap ( I checked dont worry..haha), EVAP canister or hose cracked, purge or vent solenoid defective, vacuum leak @ engine.

VERY Lame. Not to mention since the chk eng light came on we've had to call AAA twice to jump it cuz it wouldnt start. They tested battery & alternator both times and said they were fine. The Q literally died and turned off coming down the road yesterday at 50mph. Then started up perfect the 1st time on side of road.

This morning I got it to turn over and actually start more than 5x in a row but the truck couldnt keep itself running like as if it wasnt getting gas. Used my portable battery power pack and tried it 2x while pumping gas finally got it to start. Had Cooper ATR tires put on this morning and had to do the same thing b4 we left shop with the power pack thing to get it started again...very very annoying. The battery is a no name brand with a 2007 date on it. Anyone have a clue what the heck is going on?? Cuz now this one more thing I need to add to the list for my mechanic for next week.

Oh yea, and our mpg has been very compromised since the check engine light came on. sweet. I'm guessing this whole issue has something to do with the check engine light and possibly not getting enough gas to the engine.

I agree, check the furl injectors and fuel pump also if the battery is dying, get rid of it and get a new dependable one.

Same thing use to happen to me, I had a crappy motormaster better and then it died and kept dieing on me, So i swithced it to an interstate and its fine thus far

Check your fuel filter too, you might be starving your engine. I've got about 185,000 miles on my 01 and the check engine light only goes on when the gauge cluster boots up upon start up. I think I've been damn lucky.

ya it sounds like your in limp mode if the check engine light is on, and it will run either lean or rich on gas until the problem is solved. And its deffinitely a fuel related problem. Your just gonna have to use the process of elimination.

Well the qx4 is almost done. Due to the last 3 days of pure snow storms and white out conditions in Buffalo my mechanic wasnt open every day.

It ended up being a simple fuel pump relay for the starting issue. So that was good. As mentioned by others in this post and my "popping/snapping" post it did end up being the rear linkage and something to do with the rear sway bar. So that's being taken care of today. I dont think he got to the check engine light issue yet. Just an update. My mom and I have missed the truck dearly for the last week!

On the other hand Ive been having a blast in my old little 4wd bimmer...haha it's such a champ in the snow. My bro still has a Cherokee and he insisted on going for a ride with me yesterday to "test" mine out. He was amazed that it even got out of our driveway since we never shovel...lol. I just miss the ground clearence like my Jeep and the QX4 have...oh well, cant have evrything!
