Well, I have two strikes against me in that 1) I'm broke, and 2) I'm cheap.
I have been a pretty dedicated Sony fan since the days of the PSX (read: fan, not fanboy). As such, I have owned a PSX and PS2 (though I fail at life right now because I want a PSP, but am yet without ). I have compiled an okay library of games (kinda small, but all I am happy with; mostly racing and fighting), so backward compatability has always been a selling point for me (+1 for future, distant future PS3 ownership). I suppose I am also afraid of change, and would rather stick to what's familiar. I can say that I do like the PGR series on Xbox and I'm dying to try the Wii Sports game.
On the other hand, my son has a GCN, and the wife is kinda excited about the Nintendo Wii (I would have just put "Wii", but I know how some of you guys are out there ). Who knows? Kid behaves for a year or two, add in a price drop or (provided supply comes within a hair of demand) locate a used one at a decent price, and things may look good for getting one of those.
Despite the overwhelming anti-PS3 bandwagon that gets more jumpers than that of drifting, I still think that 2nd and 3rd gen titles on Sony's wonderbox will r0x0r teh s0x0rz, and I still intend on getting one (deeply, deeply discounted) later on. Heh, I waited untill the $299 -> $199 price drop to get my PSX, and I bought my PS2 used on ebay three years ago (with two controllers, ten games, and a memory card) for a fraction of release day prices. Oh, and it's the original non-slim version and it still works flawlessly.
So yeah, that's my $0.02 on that. And for reading this whole long, drawn out post, here's some bewbage for you:
