Here is a couple of suggestions, and only as suggestions. IMHO…the http://www.altimacoupe.com is put together well. If a page is confusing peeps wont come back…

1.) Site Sponsor location; can you make it a scrolling advertisement as your sponsors continue to grow?2.) On link for your Owners Manuals…click on Owners manuals and you are redirected to a new page.3.) Place a spot for local “local happenings” like our good poster adidas2go has done of occasion example would be link to local happenings, with state then the dates links of something like California… http://www.hotimportnights.com...d=680 it would have to played around with to get it user friendly…

1. Weekly/Monthly Readers Ride's Section.2. Step by step pictorial install section of various products that most of us are purchasing or will purchase in the future.3. Best Deals section : where you can buy certain products or various sales/specials ongoing.

Good suggestions thus far and I will address each:

1.) Site Sponsor location: These rotate with each refresh

2.) On link for your Owners Manuals: We have learned that opening some of the larger files inline can cause a stall/error which is annoying and would cause big issues if it was trying to pull them up within a page.

3.) Place a spot for local “local happenings”/Meets section /Weekly-Monthly Readers Ride's Section: The NICO web staff consists of one person: me. With a full-time job and family I don't have the time required to keep up with daily updates to the homepage, thus having these sections right now simply can't be done. Realize that we do have a NICO calendar in which events may be added. I will make sure Tyler and Eric are aware how to update it to help with meets. Further, NICO's Versa homepage does have a "ROTQ" (Ride of the Quarter) section for members rides that is managed and updated via one of their Moderators as I don't have the time. I will add a similar section to "my list" of possible updates for the A/C homepage.

4) Best Deals section: Similar to #3 we simply do not have the manpower available to keep a section updated with products and prices as they are ever-changing on the 'net. We would also prefer sponsors over another site that may save a couple bux on. We are looking into implementing a sponsor liason who will work with our sponsors for group deals and such. Hopefully that will be in place in a month or so.

Recent Threads section that has to be fixed from the forum change? It's on my list. If you meant something else, LMK.

If you could fix the link on the http://www.altimacoupe.com for the online forums. Currently, if you click "online forums", it takes us to all the forums for all the altimas, not just for the altima coupes (which might be more relevant). Just a suggestion.

It works like that though, because the a/c owners have intrests in all the forums that open up, except for maybe the sedans

Im talking with a patch maker and id like to get a nico patch made for my shirt hehe... he may want authorization... and you may want to pick up some to resell... idk... but i may get back to you on that.

I think a ride of the month is a great idea, just a sticky with 5-10 rides or so each month... maybe nico wide, not just coupes.. I also think that the amount of re-threads would be cut significantly if there was a DIY section that had threads there a mod could pull from the general forum.. HID, LED, intake etc.. There are some issues with the search, but if there is a clearly marked DIY it may be effective.

AZhitman is the person to contact for approval as he's the owner of NICO.

We have a monthly NICO ROTM (link is on the top bar or the NICO homepage) as it is. Search is working fine for the individual sub-forums within Altima, it's just not working off the main Altima homepage properly. I have a request to ZeroForum to get it fixed but no ETA yet. From a DIY standpoint, published How-To's are on the altimacoupe page already. We rely on members to take pictures and make step-by-step threads which we then turn into "articles" for the page.

I've noticed that the times posted in the forums (for the posts in each thread) are one hr behind, as if daylights savings time wasn't adjust for them a couple of weeks ago. Is it just me, or do other ppl see this too?

That's not my call. At this point I do not see that being implemented.

I'm curious as to why not? There has been a few times when I needed to ask someone a question specific to their vehicle and would have been better/easier to simply PM them.

Anyway, someone needs to pass this along to the admins with the priveleges to change this.

I have the capability to change it. The site owner does not want PM's so I won't make the change. It's been explained so many times why it's not enabled I really don't care to get into it again.

In a nut shell, use of PM's will limit the amount of information available to members on NICO. If members simply PM others for information then those questions/answers are not available to the members as a whole. We all lose as a result.

True, but sometimes when a question is targeted to only one member, we end up with extra threads that are meant for only one person. I understand that these threads are used for contributions by other members too then. I see your point, and I guess I agree.

It's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" decision that has been discussed at length. A number of staff would like it enabled as well so it's not just the user base. We want NICO as a whole to be a open community for the members in which information flows easily, but you are correct, as that can impact the number of repeat threads as well.

Instead of worrying about the AltimaCoupe homepage (and the soon-to-be altimas.org homepage), what can we do here in order to make information easier to find? We have how-to's on AltimaCoupe and we have some on nissan-tech as well (under the tech pages dropdown above). I can easily add additional links to the "Altima Quick Links" section as needed too.

yeah but they are called Private Messages for a reason, its not like we are going to horde the info from others...sometimes i need to ask somebody a question probably not even regarding the whole forum such as a place to meet up to work on the car etc... when someone needs to ask a member a question in a thread sometimes people tend to thread jack and the origanal point is gone

Which is a negative impact to not having PM's enabled. Trust me, this has been discussed for years and we are well aware of the issues.

I guess I should apologize about mentioning the PMing issue. That is solely the decision of the site owner and I'm sure a few of us in this coupe forum won't change their minds.

Anyway, the site looks good.

Quick idea: What about a google map where owners could each tag their location and vehicle specifics?

Nothing you did wrong, this issue pops up every few months here (NICO as a whole). It usually ends up with a few members butt-hurt because they want something that we have historically not implemented

There is a frapper (?) thing somewhere for NICO as a whole. If you would like to start one for the Altima community that would be A-OK.
