sometimes our cars take awhile to warm up..keep in mind some of ours are 13 years old now...just drive it for about 30 minutes and if it hasn't warmed up by then then you def. have a problem-

lol, there's ice everywhere around here, and everyone seems to have never been out of the south during winter. Most of the uni's are closed, even Duke and UNC. God, when I lived in KY my highschool wouldn't even close in this kind of weather...
Anyway, cut a large hole in your firewall, the heat from the engine will warm you up

First check and make sure you thermostat is not stuck. That's an easy $8.00 part to replace and it could be the culprit. If that doesn't work then I would have your heater core looked at. Could be time for a new one

i be driving my car for hours and still no heat. Only cold air blows into the car and not hot. And i also have no AC , was going to install one in, bought everything but can't find the right compressor! Is it hard to get to the heater core? I'm thinking that might be the problem.

I'm not familiar with the 240 engines, but also make sure the belt on the altenator isn't loose. My heat wasn't working when it first started getting cold here, so we checked thermostat and it was fine. We took and spent $250 to put a new heater core on it, that didn't fix the problem. My grandad was pissed and called the place and two hours later theycalled saying that have fixed it. From the looks of it all they did was tighten the belt on the altenator. :rolleyes
