sad but true, and the quality is not the same as outlined on GTSPECs website... their authentic parts are the bomb (from what i hear) &i will be ordering them for my S13.

Don't be stupid, of course some Circuit Sports products are going to be knock offs. But so is Megan Racing, CX Racing, ISIS, so on and so on. You're acting like CS should be condemned because they didn't do the research and development themselves. And, who is to say that GT Spec isn't a knock-off company themselves? The SR Turbo Outlet Pipe looks suspiciously like every other outlet pipe on the market.

Why go through the trouble of getting test vehicles and testing fitment and sound and performance and reliability when you can let another company do it and simply use their own idea. There is only so much design innovation that can be done.

And obviously GT Spec is going to try to discredit cheaper brands because that is business and cheaper parts are a threat. But as a buyer if I can buy a Circuit Sports bar and pay a fraction of the price as GT Spec and get similar quality and performance, knowing that there may be some sacrifices, (like fitmet), that gives me a huge buying advantage. And it keeps the more reputable companies on their toes.

Please realize that there are only a handful of companies actually innovating and developing products for the Nissan/Infiniti community, the rest are just along for the ride with their "knock offs".

Don't come into MY forum and start name calling.

You can make your point without calling other members stupid... I'll only tell you once. This isn't the 240 forum, grow up.

Sorry, the name "stupid" wasn't directed at any one in particular, more of a 'don't be naive' reply. I have edited my post to omit this 'name calling'.And I can tell this isn't the 240 forum, I will troll elsewhere. Still, my point stands.

Contact GT Spec and tell them you're a NICO member - I'm pretty sure the price differential is VERY small.

Plus, THEY support the forums. CS does not.

I didn't take it that way. The fact is you are correct in that nearly everything is a knock off of something else. Sometimes it is simply copying an idea off of another car whether it is side vents on body kits, or even certain wiring kits. Very few I think actually do any research instead just simply going for the show. Strut braces, are they really necessary? Maybe, maybe not. But braces such as these have been around for a very long time for various cars, such as the various Mustang derivatives (Cougars for example) from the 60s. For most of the stock engines, not necessary, for larger replacement engines or for other performance machines, very necessary. If they are not really necessary then is there any real research done beyond just making sure they fit? This doesn't mean they don't do anything for the 'G's, they well may be beneficial and maybe a lot of research did go into the product. It simply means that if they are not beneficial then I believe anything goes as far as design as long as they fit and don't interfere with anything else.

In the case of tires I wonder exactly how much research goes into various designs as well. As soon as one comes out with a certain tread concept for rain, snow, or whatever, someone else comes out with what looks like almost a copy. Did the second company do any real research beyond buying a sample of the first and then change it just enough to not infringe?

I believe that most of what we now see as far as accessories really are nothing but knockoffs of those that did take the time and resources to do it right, and as for most buyers, we are more than happy to support the 'other guys'.
