Alright, so since I missed the last mini meet, I want to be in on the next one. How about this Friday, 8.14.09? 8:00pm sounds good to me.

We had our first Turnbull Canyon Run about 5 months ago; small turn out (Rob.Vegan, lilojo, his friend, and myself) but it was fun. Now since it seems like more of you are active on here let's see how many people are down for this.

My proposed meet up spot is the Starbucks parking lot in City of Industry. Lots of parking. This is the same place we met last time.

The road is right down the street from the Starbucks. Let me know who is down.

I want to do this again, last time was fun. My tires still suck though, I was supposed to have rims and tires by the time we did this again

Ok so I am going to try and talk to my friends dad tomorrow (he's a painter at a body shop in Orange I believe) see if he can get me some sort of a deal. If he can then I will have my car in the shop. If it's going to be a pretty average price I will do all labor myself (besides painting)

So, all in all I should most likely have my answer tomorrow

If you do take it to the shop before Friday... how long will it be in there? We can push this back a week.

It would be in there about 5 days, but most likely closer to a week considering weekend hours.

But thinking about it, I'm not sure I'd need to do that. I just need to get my car checked out because my trunk and rear bumper are loose (I think from when I got rear ended) but I'm not sure so I want that checked out.

Maybe like a day. I will wait until Monday or Tuesday of next week to take it in, and make all the appts this week

Damn Danny you're killing me here dude. I so wanna do this, but don't have my car. My Birthday is on the 15th of this month too. Can't believe Imma be 23 Yrs Old already. Have you guys ever done Azusa Canyon. I used to canyon run that a few times a year with my VR6-T Jetta and about 50 of my club members. Great times.

wait, you guys are going to do a canyon run... at night? I'm not sure if its this mountain or not, but one of the guys that attends my car meet here in San diego spun out on a recent canyon run during the day in his 350Z... he said the turns come up so fast, if you're not paying attention, you could blow it....

I could see if this was a mountain you guys were ALL familiar with, but doing a canyon run at night on an unfamiliar mountain just seems dangerous to me...

so I guess my question really is... Is this a real canyon run, or just a light cruise? Big difference IMO

Good looking out DOC. I won't be attending, but it would be cool if you could make sure if this was the mountain that the 350Z driver spun out in. That way the peepz that are going could take extra precaution. I seriously don't wanna hear any stories after this run.

I have a feeling it will be somewhere in between what you would consider a canyon run and a cruise. Last time I think we were sticking around 30mph (I'm not sure though) I still have crap tires so I'm not going to be doing it too fast.

I have driven this canyon about 5 times already but nothing too aggressive I'm still getting used to the distance of it and traffic conditions and all that.

last time after you guys left me and my friend we were doing 40mph - 70mph. only because we've been there too many times. it was pretty funny though when you guys were following my friend and he disappeared after the first turn haha. it is pretty dangerous though. you cant always tell when there's another car around the corner. i spun out with my other car up there while racing my friend and ended up slamming into the cliffside. all that dirt on the surface makes it really slippery.

Yea, with stock tires and suspension I wouldn't suggest going fast or taking any turn fast.

I been there a few times when I had my 97 Eclipse GS-T, full suspension and tires upgrade and I go 40-75 mph with no problem.

With this car I just order me some wheel/tire and coilover (BC racing but its on backorder , have to wait 10-12 days).

I wish we had some fun roads like that in south Florida. Driving in straight lines everywhere you go gets boring pretty quick, as I'm sure many of you know.

Ya well I was scared to do anything above 30 or 40 anyway, I had a car FULL of people the last time.

I will be getting coilovers before the end of the year but I still have stock wheels Ya lilojoj's friend in the lancer ripped us a new one.

haha rob i dont even know how you were able to go that fast with so many people in your car. fun times though! anyways just got back from turnbull to watch the meteor shower. so many rocks everywhere it was ridiculous. i was in my sisters civic this time. still pretty fun... until the police showed up and told everyone to leave

lol i didnt get pulled over while driving. there was just a bunch of people parked illegally to check out the meteor shower. the cops showed up and just told everybody we couldnt park there and we had to leave. it was right in the intersection of turnbull and skyline dr.
