You know. The ones from Sylvania? Well I got chewed out for giving my experience to these bulbs probably a year ago. I wouldn't have minded that since my experience with them wasn't with a Versa yet. But I caught some for a good price of $20 for a twin pack. I would never pay the normal $50 for these though and here's why. I didn't notice a dramatic difference in the beam distance or how much brighter it made everything. It was whiter which looked cooler and made things look a little more crisp but that is where some people probably think that they are getting a lot more light. Small fact: coatings on bulbs actually decrease lumens. Something is filtered out to make that light whiter. The other thing is the lifespan. I bought two twin packs for the Versa and CR-V and the craziest thing happened. One of the bulbs in both vehicles blew out about a week apart from each other after about 6 months of using them. And no, I did not touch the glass. The claims on the package are true to an extent. If anyone's ever taken the time to read the asterick, it states the comparisons are next to an old worn out regular halogen bulb but not next to a brand new one which would be brighter.

So without being flamed, can I just safely ask what the hype around these is? Does anyone else notice this or has anyone truly had a better experience than this? And please do not post up company photos of light bulb comparisons like someone did in the year old thread. Duh, a company is gonna do everything to make their product look awesome

I am in need of more low beam light but I am going back to cheap regular bulbs and may buy some Hella Micro DEs to rig in the bumper one day. I put some on the CR-V and they made much more difference in low beam lighting than any bulb upgrade did.

I tried SilverStars once and had a similar opinion of them. They seem to have a shorter life than the PIAA's I had and those were bad enough as is.

I Rock Them... I run them in my Fogs and Headlights.

It's a good simple upgrade. I have had 2 sets(fogs and headlights) in my Lightning for over 5 years

They work fine. I have them in the front turn signals and headlights, no trouble as of yet.

I use the same ones... they are pretty great! I use them in my fogs and headlights... the problem with the ones in the fogs is they burn out kinda quick, but the ones in my headlights have lasted for a while, and dont seem to be dying out any time soon... knock on wood...

I bought these because I had the silverstars and one was dead in less than a year, so I said screw it. But with the phillips they do shine with a little blue which gives the HID look that I know a lot of people like too.
