Do any of you guys snowshoe? I'm thinking about getting into it this winter to keep me in aerobic shape and get me outside a lot. What equipment do you need, where did you get the equipment and how much? If you do any other cool winter activities, let me know about them too.

I'd recommend renting. While snowshoes aren't super exp (around 1-300$), I wouldn't invest in it unless it's something you know you'd really enjoy. Climbling mountains with ~50 lbs on your back in the dead of winter and having to break your own trail sometimes isn't exactly everyon's idea of fun. I'd find some rental places. I think I might go snowshoeing this winter if I can find someone to go with me.

snowshoeing is tons of fun. You can get a cheap set of shoes that look like milk crates or you can even make your own (what I used to do). It's really not hard to make some, they are pretty simple in construction. I suggest, if you just plan on going for a day trip, get a day pack and a ****ty snowboard on your back, hike up the mountains, and snowboard down, makes things alot more fun. If it's overnight, you'll have to much other weight to worry about a snowboard.

Snowboard. My nephew (16) snowboards big time. Gets into competitions and stuff. Has a blast, keeps him busy, and keeps him in great shape. Then you can pick up some snowboarder chicks and haul around your board in the handy pickup truck lol

yeah it's so hard finding chicks who wsnt to play and most guys are reluctant to let me play due to size, i.e. they're all huge mother bastards and I'm tiny in comparison.

Haha, then I'll play. I'm a typical tiny asian man. 5'10" at 135lbs.
