Wow, the snowbanks around here are pushing 8 feet at the end of peoples driveways, snowed in is when the snowplow goes by and you have to shovel through a rock hard 4 foot tall bank just to get out of your driveway. Wait nope, thats just winter.

No pics at the moment, but we got 4" here and that's a light dusting to me. We've already had 2 snowfalls before this one that produced 6" or more and it still wasn't enough to keep us in the house. Back home in GA, they got a dusting(not even an inch) and everybody was freaking out :chuckle:

Yep. Here in SE PA, there was a lotta hype by the local TV stations, as they always do, but we ended up with under a foot. The main roads were fine. Though with 40+ mph wind gusts, we got a few tall drifts.

Yeah, people even freak out in the rain. Weather stations around here were saying 2 days ago 1-3 inches, but another said 8-10 inches. We got about 1/2 inch :squint:. I live in an area where I believe we are cursed for snow. I think its because I live here. Sometimes when they call for alot of snow, everybody in all directions of me get all the snow or significantly more (except last year) than where I live, and I mean only 10 miles away. That's a piss-me-offer

Winter still aint over though, Im crossing my fingers for a foot+

Amount of snow accumulation is relative to what your 'use to' getting in your area. The pics above won't slowdown road travel, close schools, shut businesses, halt public transit or shutdown airports where I live. Having 6ft to 8+ft snowbanks at the end of driveways is a normal January thru February occurance up in these parts.

Cool article talking about the horrible conditions in the NE and the thousands stranded.
