I need to mount new snow tires in time for winter up here in Canada and am looking for (not too expensive) suggestions to mount on my OEM 15" rims.

Also, as tires are so expensive up here my plan is to order from Tire Rack and have them drop-shipped to some location in Buffalo. Does anyone have a suggestion for a trusworthy tire installer in the Buffalo area? Nearer to downtown is better.

Your suggestions are appreciated.

When I bought my '94 back in January it came with Goodyear Nordics on it. They worked well for me through the prairie winter and they're going back on the car in a few weeks' time. I never had any complaints about them. I got stuck a couple times, but I think that had more to do with the vehicle than the tires. They are definitely not a quiet tire thanks to the aggressive tread which also likes to grab rocks. They can also be studded, there are stud mounting holes in the treads of mine.

I don't know the price on them, but from what I do know they're supposed to be a cheaper tire. They're made by Goodyear specifically for Canadian Tire, so that's the only place you'll find them.

Here you go, easy search on tirerack's website:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearc ... toModClar=

If that link doesn't work just go to www.tirerack.com and search snow tires on your vehichle. There are plenty of choices all below $100 bucks per tire. You need to find an installer, perhaps your local mechanic mounts tires? Then you can ship them directly to the installer and have them mount and balance. The Bridgestone Blizzaks are hard to beat but I live in sunny California where only my XTerra sees any snow :) so that is just reputation not by my experience.

So you are looking for brand new? If so, what's your budget? Figure $120 each if you buy in Canada.

If you're looking for used (and maybe new), check Kijiji.
