Granted we don't get the snow you get in New England (I lived in central CT for five years), but we do get some and I've had my Versa now over two winters. I worried when I went from a stick to the CVT, but I've been quite happy with the handling of the V in snow, even with the stock tires.

We bought our Versa this past February. Stock Conti's were so-so in deeper snow (2-6 inches). 250 miles on the odo, I replaced them with BF Goodrich Traction T/A's. Fabulous traction.

They SUCK in the snow!

I run with studded tires. But the original tires at bellow freezing turn as hard as a rock.

Invest in winter ice/snow tires....... put them on rims, you should be able to get two to five seasons out of the them. Well worth the investment!

Overall I am very happy with how the Versa has handled on snow and ice. I did notice right away that the stock tires do not grip as well as the Michelin tires I had on my old car. But with minor adjustments to my driving habits it's been just fine.

I'm not allowed to have studded tires here in IL, but I've had them before. You can tell a big difference with those guys, you can't hardly make them slip if you wanted to.

it was great. I tested mines on a snowy day. I hit the gas really hard from a full stop and it kinda spun the front wheels before getting traction, but it wasnt that bad, and I hit the breaks from 30 mph and it came to a full stop in a decent amount of length.

Cannot wait to see how my Versa will handle in snow.

Here in Quebec we get crazy snowstorms, we get many 14"-18" snowstorms in winter.

I just bought my new winter tires and rims.

I bought some extremely expensive Nokian Hakkapellitta tires with studs. Hope the will be worth the 205$ each I paid. Tax not included. lol

Well worth it. Had a set on my '90 Saab 900 I ran studless and I have yet to find a better snow tire. Bit like crazy even on solid ice. Amazing tires.

I used the CVT in 'low' to get going on upgrades.Just have stock tires - snow tires are always better.

I found the scoop(?) under the front bumper would stop progress in deep snow/unplowed lots and I'd have no choice but to back my way out. Even when it was soft-packed.

The V ain't bad in snow but I've known better traction-avants.
