Now don't get me wrong, I love snow. There's nothning more entertaining then slamming down a moutain on a snowboard or swingin' the 240 around in a parking lot.....but when it starts to go over 4 inches it gets alittle excessive.

It snowed about 4 inches last Wednesday night here. Not too bad, right? well problem one: My gf's front yard is still a red clay pit in which my car was too far down into. In other words my car has been stuck for nearly a week. Second problem, the next day another batch comes through dropping another inch or so, taking it up to 6 inches at our front door. This makes it the most snow I've ever seen for myself in my life. Luckly last Tuesday my gf bought a 99 sebring lxi, very heavy fwd car. I tried to coax her into buying the maxima right next to it, but the leather interior and woodgrain trim was too powerful.

Anyway the last couple days it's been melting, there's still too much to get my car out though. Today it looked like I would be able to, until *beeeep....beeeep....beeeep...* I look at the tv and yet another snow advisory. Since then another inch has fallen. I'm going to go crazy. Anyone else having snow-fall blues?

Not me. My 240sx hasn't seen much snow since I added an SUV. But for "drifters" (or those that want to improve skid control skills) empty snow covered parking lots look very enticing nowadays. Just remember where the curbs are....

Silly Mid-easterners.. 6 inches? Pah! Try liveing in the NE area.. We got 11 inches the other day, and man, that was a beotch to drive in, especally sense I haven't the $$ to get snow tires and am still useing my toyo proxies, which absoluteley suck arse in the snow.. But you get used to it, and drive accordingly (Sideways)... I still haven't come close to mastering my 240, but drivering her in the snow does help show how a car will react, but at much lower speeds and wothout alot of the consequences high speed comes with.

Guess it is what you are used to. We have had had several falls of about 3-4 inches each this year, and another batch that just started outside now as I am typing this. My beef is that I can't keep the cars clean! I'm not sure how much more snow we will get here this season, but I keep hoping that it will end soon and that spring is on it's way.

Matt, remember when I said I wish it snow a foot?? Just earlier today......well.....I think I'm getting it here. I went outside with tape measure and said 2inches and guess what? That $hit is still coming down like a blizzard. I better get out of college for this if not I'm going to be one p****ed off person.

I don't wanna drive in this mess...well, not to school anyways. My college is located up in Livingston (overton county) which they get it worse. I wish the foot of snow up there for them that should close it for sure. I've seen enough snow for this year I want spring time. Our front yard had been wet since beginning of January and muddy. I've washed my shoes more than 3x in the washer just to get the mud off them. I just want it to snow enough to close school but yet ya know where you can get out and do stuff. :D

I can't believe that you guys get a warning for an inch of snow!!! Damn.... we've still got about 2 feet in the front yard... with snow banks about 6 feet or more. I had to drive to my camp today.... and hike a mile or so to get there (no plows can get to it in the winter). I shoveled the deck off so it wouldn't stress under the weight of snow and ice. The stuff was so thick, crusted, and heavy it took two hours to get the job half-done. I ran out of daylight.

So I guess my answer is yes.... I've got the snow fall blues... if I only had it as easy as you I would be psyched! But, I won't complain too much... I love the winter and the more snow we get... the better the skiing gets!

I can't believe it either. You should try living here. The news channels go buck nuts at the slightest sign of snow and starts a chain reaction of histeria throughout the area. People running to the grocery stores and all this nonsense over an inch of snow. It gets on my nerves. Snow doesn't bother me at all, just the 3 inches of salt they put down to combat the one inch of snow. 2 weeks later there's still piles of salt at every red light. :rolleyes

If he makes it I guess your expected to be there as well.

I'll be glad when this semester is over so I can transfer and be done with the 1st year and go to college closer to home. GEEZ! I hope I wake up and hear it be closed. I will be happy on that. I like snow, its nice, but when it snows and no college is closed thats when it realy sucks ***. There I think I'm finished being mad. :eyecrazy

College doesn't close for snow. They *will* close for temperature though. I remember I had probably 2 or 3 days a year in college that were cancelled due to temperature. Something about how they don't want students walking to school with 60 below wind chills. Eventhough we still did it to go to the library. I think it could be 200 below and a total white out, and school libraries stay open.

This college has closed for snow. It doesnt have dorms or anything. Its a 6classroom college that has 1 office, and place for the teachers office and counselor. We have breakroom, and our library is part of the bookstore and computer place as well. Its very small. Overton county always gets it worse. The schools are closed but yet they wont closed the college. All the others besides Tech is closed.

I was out for couple days last time b/c of the snow. But yet didnt snow enough up there and they are stupid anyways. I travel up a big hill to get to the school and its snowing hard again. I think I"m just going to skip it, they have us 2hours late but I got friends around me saying they aint going. Some like around Celina and all get it bad and way I up there I dont want to be stuck at school. :Pface

I can so relate to this. My university will cancel classes if the snow gets to be 5" i believe, or maybe cancel morning or evening classes, vice versa, whatever. Anyhow. It's funny, today is my first day of class and it just started to snow, so i am taking the advice of the university website that states:

"Faculty and students are not expected to take unnecessary risks to meet their teaching and learning obligations due to inclement weather. When classes have not been canceled, it is a matter of personal judgment whether traveling to campus is hazardous. Faculty should notify their departmental offices when weather precludes them from meeting their teaching obligations; similarly, students should notify their professors when inclement weather precludes them from class attendance. In such cases, students should be allowed to make up missed class time and, whenever possible, canceled classes should be rescheduled."

blah blah blah, and i know they won't cancel class today, so i will miss two classes. oh well, i'm not trying to find out how much it will snow if i do go. driving the 240 in more than 3" is scary. ( i have dunlop sp5000's ---all-seasons)this is an unusually snowy winter here in DE. we usually have droughts over the summer or winter. We just had 8" this past friday! what the hell! then they are calling for a bigger storm before Valentines' Day.

Here's all the snow I shoveled, it was 50 degrees the day after the 8" inches, which made it easier...sort of. 3 foot barrier behind my car, WTF

Well, I skipped today's classes and its sleeting up here. Just got back from town and filled up the car. 12.50 for 7.6 gallons, $1.63....day before I put 13.60 in it and got 8 gallons for 1.53. Thats just a day or 2 difference. :(

I hope it doesnt snow again tonight. They are calling for black ice in the morning. I've never drove this much in bad weather before....since I started college I experienced driving in very windy weather the time we had that hurricane come thru, now lots of snow and showed mom I can drive on it just fine. :D I got one class tomorrow after, my math class I like to see what I made on my test.

uhh....sleet?? :thinker*gets out dictionary to give smart explanation* sleet-precipitation composed of generally transparent frozen or partially frozen raindrops. (2)mixture of rain and snow or hail. (3) thin icy coating that forms when rain or sleet freezes, as on trees and STREETS

 I hate sleet!

In other words sleet=icy streets meaning not good to drive on like black ice.

I know what you mean darkeagle, we were supposed to get snow yesterday (Monday) and we didn't, instead the temp went up to 35 and we had slush during the day. but at night...oooooo... on my way home from work was just black ice. it wasn't thick black ice. so it was ok for driving. but i can't believe some people who actually have the odacity to drive over or at the speed limit on icy roads. i mean.. COME ON! IS YOUR HEAD FULL OF CRAP!? yeah. i was going 43mph in a 50mph zone. ahahaha! stupid-*** people!

Well as it has seemed to go the last 10 or so years.. Or at least from what I remember.. The colder, wetter the winter, the nicer, hotter the summer. Damn I am looking forward to that.

Screw it, I am looking forward to going to NJ it's that cold..

my mom shoveling the walkway. keep in mind, half of that pile was already before the storm started. (see previous post)

crappy pic, but if you look at it hard enough you can see the rows of houses on each side and a snowy street. um, i think by now it's got to be more than a foot. not too mention 3 ft snow drifts. and as i type it's still snowing.. into MONDAY! MONDAY! MONDAY! definitely going down in the record books for the Philadelphia region. Especially delaware, being we were hit the worst. this is worse than the Blizzard of 1996!!needless to say i hate snow. well, at least i won't have to go to class, i'm crossing my fingers that i won't have to go till wednesday. it will take a while to dig out of this mess.

Its Sun around midnight, we got about 6" so far, with the worst coming tomorrow...total about 18-24 inches. I'm in NJ and Sky is in Delaware (is it DE?). So all that crap she got, I'm currently getting.

VR rated tires + snow = me driving sideways everywhere.Buh, you beat me to the punch...

I'd rather have snow than what we got today. A 33 degree down pour. That's the worst. Atleast snow is dryer.
