I can so relate to this. My university will cancel classes if the snow gets to be 5" i believe, or maybe cancel morning or evening classes, vice versa, whatever. Anyhow. It's funny, today is my first day of class and it just started to snow, so i am taking the advice of the university website that states:
"Faculty and students are not expected to take unnecessary risks to meet their teaching and learning obligations due to inclement weather. When classes have not been canceled, it is a matter of personal judgment whether traveling to campus is hazardous. Faculty should notify their departmental offices when weather precludes them from meeting their teaching obligations; similarly, students should notify their professors when inclement weather precludes them from class attendance. In such cases, students should be allowed to make up missed class time and, whenever possible, canceled classes should be rescheduled."
blah blah blah, and i know they won't cancel class today, so i will miss two classes. oh well, i'm not trying to find out how much it will snow if i do go. driving the 240 in more than 3" is scary. ( i have dunlop sp5000's ---all-seasons)this is an unusually snowy winter here in DE. we usually have droughts over the summer or winter. We just had 8" this past friday! what the hell! then they are calling for a bigger storm before Valentines' Day.
Here's all the snow I shoveled, it was 50 degrees the day after the 8" inches, which made it easier...sort of. 3 foot barrier behind my car, WTF
