This will be my first winter with my x and my manual is lost somewhere in my garage. Can someone please tell me whether or not you have to turn OFF the snow mode button at a certain speed when driving in the snow? Or if you will damage anything by driving in snow mode when the pavement is only partially covered with snow here and there?

On some cars/trucks like my Jeep Wrangler you can only drive in low range up to ~40mph, AND when there's sufficient snow on the road for the tires to slip... or it somehow strips the gears or something nasty. I assume this isn't a concern in the G35x but thought I'd better ask a stupid question rather than risk damaging my cherished new ride. Thanks in advance.

Great question. I do know that the snow button distributes power 50/50 to the front and rear tires to 19kmh (12 mph) but I do not know if it has to be manually disengaged.

Driving in Snow mode on in dry conditions shouldn't "damage" or break it, but it may cause your differential to wear out faster over long periods of time. It also prevents your differentials from doing what it's designed to do, so you will sacrifice performance. It will ruin your handling, and may cause your car to understeer if you push it in corners.

There really is no point in using snow mode in the dry, so don't do it. Forgetting to turn it off though, or driving 40+, won't damage it.
