I have a 2006 M45. I know there was an M35x available in 2006 and it has a switch for snow mode. I have heard people say that these switches lower torque, but my understanding is that this just makes the VDC more touchy. I am curious if the electronics in the M35 and M45 support such a mode that could be enabled if such a switch was added, or if the electronics in the M35x versions are completely different in that regard along with the AWD differences. It doesn't seem like Infiniti would have left the snow mode switch oout of the RWD models if the capability is there, but stranger things have happened. Anyone know whether a snow mode switch could be added without software modification, I would say without hardware modification as well, but presumably wires might need run to connect it accordingly if it could be done.

It also "locks" the power distribution between the front and rear wheels to 50 / 50 up to a maximum speed of 15MPH. After that it resumes its normal variable distribution curve. I do not think its technology is compatible with anything other than an AWD M.
