So Saturday evening (technically Sunday morning) about 12:00am, my buddy with the Stealth RTT (AWD/AWS) calls me on his way home. He tells me “dude they haven’t plowed yet, get out here and practice drifting”. So we meet up at shopping centre near the entrance to the unplowed residential area. The first run I’m in the Stealth, riding shotgun. The first corner he attempts to drift but ends up in spinning out. Second corner he starts gettin the hang of it. AWD doesn’t really help when you have a years worth of AutoXing wear on Falken Azenis. After about 20 more cleanly drifted corners and 10 more spinouts we head back to my car.

My turn, the Nissan has so much torque (or the tyres have so little traction) that I can spin em from a stop in third gear. Anyway the first corner I spin out, the second corner I get the car sideways to about 40 degrees to the direction of travel but counter steer it out. I start getting the hang of it and attempt an intial D style drift, get the car sideways before corner and drift until im lined up with the straightaway. The first time I push right through the corner. The next attempt I brake slightly to transfer the weight up front, turn, then gas it to transfer back to oversteer…Turned out sweet.

We find an empty grammar school parking lot, I never bothered to do doughnuts but had hella fun driving around the lot with back end out from one corner to the next. Back on the side streets I make a really nice initial D drift onto a street with really deep ditches on either side. Ahead I see this red cavalier parked kinda funny. Turned out this guy and his girl got the car’s nose stuck in the ditch. We roll by slowly, I figure “lets mess with this guy”. Where two driveways meet the street I gun it and do a 180. Going back the other way, I reached back to grab the camera and snap a shot of the car stuck. Unfortunately I just got a shot of my windshield. After we roll by the guy starts yelling “fook you” etc…I managed to take a switchback corner totally in drift but the next one I started getting stupid and ended up pushing to the curb and almost sideswiped a mail box. I figured that was time to give up. Anyway a good time was had by all wish I had pics. For another opinion

It finally snowed a bit here too, but ive had the flu ever since and now all the pavement is pretty much dry. Plus I'm still sick. Hopefully we'll get a little more, although my mom driving my car in normal driving conditions scares me enough...
