you all think it would be alright to just put some weight in the back seat on the floorboard........both sides.... I cant imagine the weight throwing it off like it would if i put it in the trunk space or even over the tires. so is that a good place to put weight.

I hate the midwest cause it'll be nice for a week and then out of the blue freakin six inches of snow drops......just wanted to know before we start gettin snow.

I did that with my old mustang 5.0 and it worked ok. I use 80lb cement bags behind my seats. Get some snow tires though, that would be your best bet.

weight is good to prevent sliding, BUT once you do slide, the weight makes it harder to control

I'll second what driftaholic said,

snow tires would be the best bet. they're pricey, but it's just like what you would do if it would snow... would you wear a pair of running sneakers or boots/something with some chunky tread so you don't slip off the step walking out of your house?

last winter in DE sucked, i got some all-season perf tires (re950's..*drool*) they should get me thru this winter, and they're a better set than my previous dunlop sp5k's

Yes the Northeast was absolutly horrible last winter. I think my car was sideways 50% of the time I was driving in the snow.

Funny little sidenote. I was driving home from work, with my sister (we worked at the same place). I'm going up a hill doin about 5mph, and the back end starts to slip...I end up full opposite lock, tail end still out almost all the way to the right, going up the hill sideways. I didn't want to slow down to try to straighten out, because I would have stopped and been stuck. My sister is like "Is there anyway you can fix that, its weird looking out the side window"

I'm glad I moved to South Jersey (for winter anyway). I think the steepest incline we have around here is like 5 degrees, flattest place I've ever lived.
