last I heard you were doing a CVT to manual swap after you got the turbo. hows the car feel boosted? did you dyno it yet? how much did it cost to go from CVT to manual? I've been wanting to ask you hella questions about your car but I never got around to it.
Yeah, I boosted last fall and had to wait awhile while I saved up money to do the swap. My main problem however was finding a reputable shop to do the job (I'm picky about who touches my car) and I really didn't feel like trying to ship my car out of state to get the job done. I finally ended up finding a great shop that specializes in transmissions down the road from me to do the swap. I was going to wait until it was done to post pics, video and go into detail on the whole process but after seeing the progress yesterday, well, I couldn't contain myself!
As for the cost, that's yet to be fully determined. The parts are what's expensive even with getting a used transmission which saved me $1200+.... The labor has been quoted in-between $2200-$3300. In the end I believe I'll have shelled out anywhere from $6,000 - $7,500 for the job which includes all parts, labor, HLSD, STS and traction rods. That $1500 swing accounts for what labor might end up at and if I need to get a new ECM or not. The ECM's have the exact same part number between CVT and MT cars so a $140 reflash should do the trick over paying $570 for a new ECM pre-programmed from Nissan for the MT. Nissan is just being stubborn and giving knee jerk responses on it atm so we have to investigate the issue further once everything is back together. We'll actually be able to drive the car with it flashed to the CVT but tons of codes will be thrown. Another tidbit of info is that there are 2 wiring harnesses for the MT trans depending on if it has VDC or not. My MT trans does not have VDC so the harness was actually more expensive by $100, crazy I know, lol.
As for further info on questions you might have, check this thread out:

I keep it updated pretty often on my progress... and yeah, I'll dyno it after it's all done.
I also have like 7 receipts from Nissan showing part number and description that I'll post when done for others reference.
how much did you end up paying for the HLSD?
$563 w/tax included as I remember from courtesyparts.com which are located down the road from me.
Also, how far into the swap is this? Are these old or more recent pictures? Cause I know you've been talking about doing this for a while now
I've had my car in since 2 days prior to Thanksgiving but obviously not much could be done besides some research for the 1-2 days they worked that week. Then we went through the part ordering process last week and they "began" the swap this past Monday. These photos are from yesterday (day 3 of swap). They have the new wiring harness all in and the shifter and its assembly are in place (just not the aesthetics). Barring any crazy issues I should have my car back on Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Maybe sooner if things keep going smoothly, we'll see.
