Hey all

I was going to tighten my endlinks and grease them up, thinking that the creaking sound I was getting from speedbumps was coming from them.

After peeking up the car, I saw that my endlink and swaybar were no longer connected near the left rear. It's scary to think how long I've been driving like that. Unfortunately I can't get a close enough look to examine the damage without a lift.

One question is... if the endlink snapped and cannot be reattached, can I put the stock one on with a Racingline sway bar while I wait for the new ones to come in?

I know that I shouldnt take turns too sharply with the swaybar disconnected on one end. Other than that, how hazardous is it to drive like this until I get it fixed?

Thanks!

EDIT:

Thank you Racingline for helping me get the right parts. For those who need replacements for your Racingline endlinks:

Each end link requires:

- Two 10mm x 70mm or 75mm bolts; I opted for 1.5mm pitch, as it seems to be the most common
- Four right hand nuts, 10mm
- Two left hand (reverse thread) nuts, 10mm
- Two right hand serrated nuts, 10mm
- Four bushings - Energy Suspension, part # 9.8106G (9.8106R also works, but is red)

Get at least 9.8 grade or higher.

The reverse thread and serrated nuts are very difficult to find. I checked with a dozen shops and no one had these nuts. Your best bet might be Fastenal Co. or ordering them online. If you must find use a substitute, use locktite and locking nuts with nylon inserts.

That sucks.. Short answer is yes. Oem end links will work with your rlp swaybar. As for your second question (which sounds like a ? That my wife would ask me). No it is not a good idea. Your just gonna make it worse.

Thanks. I will try to get this fixed asap

By the way, I had purchased some front endlinks, had them installed, and the stock ones removed. But our cars don't have a front sway bar... right? What are the front endlinks connected to?

Our cars do have the front sway bar, it's just a pain in the behind getting it out, that is why they don't sell an aftermarket one.

I drove on a disconnected front end link for a day or so. I think you'll be fine. If you don't have another car to use, just drive carefully

So I checked the other endlink and frontlinks. They're all sitting fine, other than the left rear.

The entire screw, nut and bushing assembly is gone.

I just sent a message to Racingline for help determining what replacement parts I need. But I have no idea how long it will take them to get back to me.

Is anyone familiar with what I need, and in what sizes? I won't be able to take the endlink or swaybar to a hardware store until I get the car to a shop. But I want to have the parts ready by the time I get to the shop.

Wow! That sucks :( Before you found it, did you feel any difference in how the car handled?

The ride quality hasn't been good since I lowered the car, so it's hard to say. I noticed that the suspension was creaking when I went over speedbumps and rough pavement. That led me to investigate.

Can anyone help me determine the length and diameter of the bolt, and the length, width, and diameter of the bushings? That would be very helpful. I haven't been able to find these specs online.

If all else fails (assuming you've already emailed RL), you could of course measure the one on the other end.

I might take off the broken endlnk and take that with me to a hardware store. The other side should have the same size parts.

Dammit, I've been experiencing the same thing sort of. My noises are very prominent when taking sharp turns on an incline. This happened after I raised my car though... I should check mine out.

Same here regarding the noises when taking a driveway at an angle. Spooky bad noises.

I would highly recommend an alignment after you get everything put together! Glad RL helped you out.
