I went from a 1992 Lexus with 317,000mi on it when I traded it in. Even with all those miles on it, when it was running, you could not hear a thing or feel anything. I would end up grinding the starter on a daily basis because I didn't think the car was on. I loved it. My I35 runs great and probably idles just like any other I35, but if there was a way to make it smoother I'd be all for it.

Suggestions anyone?

*Note: I thought of replacing the plug wires, but the car only has 50k miles on it (50,008 to be exact) , so Im not sure how much of a difference that would make.

The VQ35DE has a direct coil-on-plug ignition so spark plug wires won't do a thing.

I would run synthetic oil and check to make sure your motor mounts are in good shape. Also factory idle is 650rpm for automatics and 750rpm for manuals, if memory serves (for the Maxima, I think)-- raising the idle by adjusting the idle screw on the throttlebody to 750rpm may help a bit.
