Today I got a 4 wheel alignment and balance/rotate job done on the old beast- shocking how even after 256,100 miles the specs can still be dialed in! Went for a nice high speed drive and boy does it track well and feel smooth- even the ole A/C kept it cool during our heatwave{103 today and over 90 for most of the summer- on track for the hottest summer EVER recorded in the Balt/Wash metro} $99 well spent!

Glad to hear you made it out for under $100 for doing something on the Q :biggrin:

Last time I had an alignment it went pretty well mind you I had replaced a lot of the front suspension parts.

Have you replaced any of your rear suspension parts?

no,local independent did the work. Not a fan of most national chains for car maintenance and repair......kind of like the McDonalds of car care!

After 256,100 miles you should feel lucky :yesnod. How are your subframe bushings?

I have eyeballed the subframe bushings every 90 days during oil changes, and so far they have not leaked.....whether they are good as new....who knows, but so far have not felt a reason to replace yet. As Q is now at 256K and planned burial at 300K, parts expendatures are being reduced to "as needed only".......would hate to make large investments that would not pay off with only 44K miles worth of use {less than 20 months with my driving patterns} left in the old girl.......even less if a major failure occurs {transmission/injectors/accident}

Wish you a happy 300k :yesnod

I really never gave any thought for an expiry date for my Q. I treat my Q like I'm going to keep it forever. I wonder if any other members have decided on a cut off date/mileage too.
