what size rims would be a smooth ride b/t 17, 18, 19s?

The 17's will give the 'smoother' ride vs the other choices if we're talking about plus sizing (+1,+2, etc). Larger sidewall height and lower req'd air pressure = smoother ride.

But also should point out handling will be a little slower than that of a larger rim & lower profile tire b/c of sidewall flex.

Depends on your tire specs. they can all be as comfortable if the side wall is the same .
