Redtop, 3inch turbo back, FMIC, 10psi

previously this turbo was daily driven 20psi+ (spiking)^I know- it wasnt me^

Anyways, it will smoke dark grey/black out of exhaust (muffler) only after a really hard run (autox track this weekend). After it times down, and shuts off for a few minutes, it is fine- no smoke- nothing unusual.

Same thing happens around town, I daily drive normally an no smoke. Sometimes when I get on it hard it will smoke afterwards a little.

Is this the turbo slowly going?

I checked shaft play on compressor side and it is more than I would like, but nothing extreme. I think this sounds right on, since it doesnt smoke all the time, I wouldnt expect there to be a ton of shaft play.

I assume it isnt the engine burning oil, since it doesnt smoke when driven normally.

20+ PSI on the stock T25................ I would say it's starting to go or is already dead.

Somthing sounds off, your turbo is like you said probly going slowly. So if I were you i would buy a rebuild kit and go at it.

dark grey/black = fuel

light grey/white would be oilsweet smell white smoke is coolant

your turbo sounds fine if its dark smoke, thats a sign of of running rich.

hmmm, I dont understand what would make it run rich.

Stock fuel system + Walbro pumpNo tune Stock ECU

Am I missing something?I might go to dyno for $60 they'll run A/F along with dyno runs.

give you an idea of why it does it.

Stock SR fuel system uses a stock FPR. When you put a Walbro pump in it bumps the pressure from 20 something PSI at idle to 40 something. It pushes more fuel than a stock SR pump would, now if you go to a after market FPR you can stop that.

^^ True. stock is 43.5psi with vacuum line disconnected. ~35psi with it connected.

I never tested mine with the stock pump, but i have a walbro 255 high pressure unit and i just tested the fuel pressure and it is exactly at 42psi with the vacuum line connected. So it is raised about 7psi higher than it should be with the walbro.

Go to Ebay buy a Nismo FPR for like 110 shipped and buy a Oil Filled FPG for like 30 bucks and your set for life
