Smoking, i figure valve seals. How hard are they to replace?

I've got valve seals left over from my gasket set when i redid the head gasket and timing kit yadda yadda on my Coupe. I didnt put them in because my previous S13 had 40k more miles and it didnt smoke, but now my coupe is beginning to. It smokes a good deal if I 'launch' it from a stop after sitting for a bit. It smokes enough to lower the oil level by a quart every 800 miles or so. compression is awesome and I know the smoke isnt antifreeze so its probably a couple bad valve seals, right?

so how hard are they to replace? get the cam gears off, cams out, buckets off,

and then what? I kinda assume it'll be obvious, but i've never taken apart valvetrane before so i dont know if there's any pro-tips i should know.

Gotta pull the head again to do the valve seals without risking scoring the pistons and possibly bending valves. Otherwise pretty damn easy.

drat. if im going to pull the head again it's going to be because it's getting pnp'd.

so if that ever happens, then i'll put these in. Could you technically explain though how it's that risky to do them with the head on? Thanks, by the way : )
