I changed the front brakes a couple days ago and i noticed while driving in traffic a very strong burning smell came from my car. The front right brake was smoking and cooking something under there. Is this normal on new brakes or something went wrong when they installed them?

Not normal. If it was your back brakes I would say to check the e-brake but with the front doing it then something is not right and it is effectively grabbing all the time, which can cause the rotor to warp.

Pull it back apart and see if you can find an issue.

who installed them? a shop will warranty their job so might not want to touch them yourself but go back to whoever did the job.

Get a fire extinguisher too just in case.
