Ok, got a new head gasket installed, along with new valve stem seals, Ive searched but cant find any topics about the problem, it starts and idles fine but when you rev it to 3k rpms or higher it blows blue/white smoke from the tailpipe. compression is good all the way around. any ideas?

check your oil if it looks like a chocolate milkshake. blue white smoke suggest that you are burning oil and coolant.

oil looks ok, but im gonna do an oil change in a few days and see if it gets any better, prolly got coolant in the oil when i took the head off to replace the gasket and seals.

if you had a blown headgasket and didn't change your oil after fixing it that is probably your problem...

Pulled the head originally to check the valves and install new seals, head gasket wasn't blown. im wondering about switching over to synthetic, think that would help?

Not at all.... So you never overheated... hmm I wonder if the heads surface is ok. Either bad install on the headgasket (bad positioning, improper torquing, over torque), or the head has warpage and needs milling.

Most machine shops check heads for like 25 bucks and will mill them for about 45.

pulled the intake and exhaust manifold so it would set right on there with no problems, sprayed it with copper sealant, and torqued to FSM specs. it hasn't overheated, id think it would smoke at idle and start up if the head was warped. im not gonna start it again till after the oil change to prevent any further damage
