Hey Guys, I need some help with my KA24DE in my 1992 240sx SE. Just so you know, my car has 163,000 miles on it. When I start my car in the morning, there is a plume of white oil smoke from my engine, as well as when I accelerate quickly off of lights. I've never run this engine over 3500 RPMs and I really don't like seeing the smoke, not to mention that it is embarassing. I poured some of that no-smoke in my car, but to no avail, could anyone tell me what's wrong, or do I have to buy all new valve components, rings, or even a new engine. Your input is appreciated.

You mentioned white smoke. What does it smell like?Sweet or oily? Is there a bluish tint to it, or is it pure white?

One is likely caused by a bad head gasket, the other is rings/seals.

white smoke is coolant.. it should smell kinda sweet. if so, its a blown headgasket.

.. also, you need to rev your car more :)

Revving the car hard every now and then is beneficial. It burns off carbon deposits, cleaning the plugs and O2 sensor. It also opens up the pressure to the fuel rail, helping to remove impurites and varnish. I think you should do it at least once a week. I'm not saying trash the engine, but at least get it close to redline for a couple minutes, off and on. Cooling system has to be working properly of course.
