Car: should be obvious enough

my j30 billows white smoke for the first 30 minutes it is on. Around then, when the car is warmed up, the smoke dissapears. Should i be worried about this? is this simply water vapor, or is it coolant in the oil? and if its just water vapor, why does it vanish after the car is warmed up? thanks in advance!

leaky seals/gaskets would be my guess. probably coolant leaking somewhere.

thanks for the input, but i think ive got an injector thats at least partly to blame. ill have to get that checked first and then see whats up...theres no sign of coolant in the oil and vice versa, but who knows....well see. thanks for your input

A by-product of the richer mixture at cold start is more water vapor. Are you using premium? Have you cleaned the throttle and intake as suggested in other posts? An injector leakdown test should show any leaking injectors, have them perform it cold since you notice problems on startup.

yeah, i use premium fuel as directed by the manual. yeah, i guess a cold start leakdown test would be in order.
