Smoked lights.. painted vs. vinyl layover?

hey everyone, i just got my altima about a month ago and am getting ready to do all the tint and smoked lights on it.

What i'd like to ask is if any of you out there have any advise on getting them painted or getting vinyl layovers put on. I have called a few places for quotes for it all but i wanted to see what your opinions were.

i've read the posts that talk about doing it yourself with paint, but i would rather have it done.

my cousin convinced me on getting them tinted instead of painted. #1 because it comes out glossy instead of a matte finish and #2 you can always take em off if need be.

yeah, i've been leaning more towards the tint on them. but does anyone know if they apply the tint to the inside of the housing or the outside?
