Smoked a Lexus challenger in the Dust

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I was coming home from the mountains of Western North Carolina this afternoon when I noticed that a fast 2006 Lexus GS300 was approaching my back. I kinda let him zing by and he was looking at the EX35. Then I went to overtake him and speed up, and I saw that he was motivated for the chase.

This was a 3-car lane road. While I was a bit ahead of him, I got stuck with three cars almost side by side not letting anyone pass. I was on the left lane and tailing the car ahead. The Lexus GS300 agressively went on my right side (middle lane) and very closing tailing the car on the middle lane, hoping the car would give way. Fortunately, the car ahead of me sped up a little, thus freeing me to overtake him. The road was going uphill when the car ahead of me freed up, and I floored the gas and went to 100-110 MPH and just bolted away from the Lexus.

In a few seconds, by the time he was free to overtake I was like 30 car lengths ahead and I continued to floor and zig and zag. I saw him going faster than the rest of the other cars hoping to catch up.

But then my exit came, and I saw the Lexus GS300 way behind. I searched and this car is suppose to do 6.8 sec 0-60, but the Lexus was no match for the power of this little CUV. Goddam it felt pretty good to have smoked the aggressive Lexus driver.

And you're saying you "smoked" another car just because he got held up in traffic?

So if he got caught at the light and you didn't, the number of car lengths would've been even more crazy!

No .. you don't understand. He made the mistake of staying in the slower lane. Have you ever street race AT ALL ? I do it all the time. It takes intuition which lane is going to move faster. And I chose the faster lane and he followed thru but in the delay .. I was already ahead by 30 car lengths because I stepped on the gas and went to 110 MPH almost instantly.

Reckless endangerment is a crime consisting of acts that create a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person. The accused person isn't required to intend the resulting or potential harm, but must have acted in a way that showed a disregard for the foreseeable consequences of the actions. The charge may occur in various contexts, such as, among others, domestic cases, car accidents, construction site accidents, testing sites, domestic/child abuse situations, and hospital abuse. State laws and penalties vary, so local laws should be consulted.

Your comment was filled with irony.

Do what you want to do....just try not to do it around me, my friends, or family as you show off your massive 297 horsepower in a 3,700lbs mini suv.

I guess I dont see the point.

Maybe you do not know HOW TO READ. I don't drive aggressively among non-aggressive drivers. If all the drivers around me are driving at 65 MPH, I drive the same. But this was an aggressive driver and a lesson had to be taught.

I'M A MUCH SAFER DRIVER THAN YOU ARE. Have had no accidents for 30 years of driving. My driving skills are superior in every way to yours. Some people can drive fast and not endanger others. I'm one of those who have jedi-like reflexes. I don't talk on the phone when I drive nor do I have conversation with people during driving. I don't, for a second, keep my eyes off the road. I'm a very concentrated driver. I check my mirrors every minute like the UPS and Fedex drivers are trained to. I don't drink and I don't smoke. And I got pheriperal vision.

Some people drive SLOW and endanger many people. You probably heard cops arresting people for driving slow and endangering more people than you might think. Some people drive slow as they are on their cellphone - VERY DANGEROUS PEOPLE DRIVING SLOW. Your family is more endangered on the highway by people driving slow on a fast lane and on the cellphone. Just a lesson for your one-sided point of view.

You're the one who's filled with irony. Why do you buy a 297 Horsepower car if you're not going to use it. My friend, go buy a 120 horsepower car because you don't seem to need 297 horses ... I do .. You Don't OBVIOUSLY !

30 years of driving experiance but cant take criticism for your actions that you posted on the internet without insulting people? I was very polite to you in my response to what you posted for the public to read but you couldnt return that favor obviously.

None the less how do you know you are a safer driver then me? How do you know you are a better driver then me? You have no idea what my vehicle training is. Keep making your assumptions.

And two wrongs in my book doesnt make a right. You dont drive aggressive unless someone next to you is....wow that's great. Every day on my way to work I see someone driving like a prick (probably not you since I dont live by you) but that doesnt encourage me to follow suit. Hopefully while walking home you never see a group of these crazy drivers jumping off of a bridge. It would be ashame for you to follow suit.

I bought my crossover SUV to be used as such. The HP (or lack there of honestlty) wasnt THE selling point. It was a bonus. It's not a sports car and is a considerable step down in performance compared to my other vehicle I traded.

Oh and I do have a sub 120HP car...so adding another one to my stable wouldnt make sense.

I guess in your case age did not cause wisdom or respect.

I used to be a guilty of reckless endangerment at times until I learned how stupid and dangerous street racing is. The point being you can be charged with a crime even if the other person is the one who screws up. That was the part that really got me, some idiot screws up and takes me with them.

+1You can street race all you want and share that with your friends, co-workers, family, relatives...etc but don't brag about it here. Nico Club does not promote street racing at all. There was an older post got locked because of that if I remembered correctly. MOD please lock this sucker up.

Man some people on this forum are a bunch of whips...

The mod's need not intervene and hold all of our hands...

This is a forum where people go to talk about there cars and what they do with them.

Yes, NICO does not condone street racing, we are all aware of this but Jesus why complain about it.

Some people just need to grow up

You can`t win here bro. We all know that EX35 has 297hp to it`s disposal

but most people here buy it and most of them wears adult

diapers.

I once race a freaking AMG 4X4 AND LOVE IT!

I bet most people here or their family drive while on the cellphone or text

while driving. I don`t know what the difference with this to street racing?

I`ll soon trade this "for the whimp car" and get a BIMMER.

Bad driving is bad driving no mater what vintage diapers you are wearing. Everyone here is guilty of using bad judgment behind the wheel. The difference is they aren't bragging about it or trying to justify it when it happens.

Jesus, what sort of straw man argument is that? If you're not street racing, then you MUST be texting while driving?

If you want to race, take it to the track. IMO, street racing is just like jerking off - they car you're "racing" with probably does not even know you exist.

I have to admit that I've street race when I was yonger and less mature. I've grew out of that stage and moved on. So I won't blame you guys for street racing.

I believe most EX owners on here are mature, grown ups or as some of you refer to as "Wear Adult Diapers" and most of us don't like street racers or ricers, or "Wear a pull-up". There's always mature and immature posters on any forum no matter what car you drive. Therefore this argunment will not be going anywhere fast.

I've SPANKED a Ton of G35's, 350's, And G37's both on and of track...

Our Or atleast my EX is pretty frekin fast…

I would say with clean air filters, a 1/4 tank of 100 octane, My new tires, My +2 mod, and the spare tire out my ex will undoubtedly pull a 0-60 in the 5.0-5.6 range.

I do need to go to the strip and confirm this with a VBOX or something at some point soon.

With a little work our EX's Rock.

RioD007,

Your +2 mod really impressed me. I've done that to my old Civic SiR and that is one of the best "Free" mod I've ever had. Or one of the best that gave noticable performance with the littlest effort. Truly a stealthy mod I must say.

lets do that at 2AM in the morning when no cars are around or go to track to see what EX can do among other cars. It is already too late to regret when someone is injured by you. I once street raced alot, I quit to drive recklessly after i saw my friend's car doing head to head against the wall.

If you know HOW TO READ (apparently all caps is needed).... then do yourself a favor and read your posts one more time. And if something still doesn't click inside of you, read it again and again until it does.

And if you truly have 30 years of driving experience, even if you started very very young, that'd make you at least 40 years old... That's what makes this post even more tragic...
