smoke from shifter..?

I was driving today at about 60 mph and look down at my radio and I see smoke coming out of my shift boot. Not alot of smoke but just a little bit at a time. Anyone know what this could be?

there is a tear in the boot on your shifter and it will leak out and hit your exuast. mine used to do it. i replaced mine with a B&M. its not the end of the world though.
