Hey guys,

1999 Infiniti I30 Base (160,000 miles)
I drove my car to school the other day, went to class etc. When I came back about 3 hours later I started my car and I noticed right away it was idling rough before I even backed out of the parking spot. Idling RPM's were higher than usual at about 850-1000 rpms. I checked the exhaust because I noticed a really strong fuel smell. I see a short jet of smoke from the exhaust and it is dripping some liquid which smells like raw gasoline.

Had the car towed, I was able to drive it out of the parking lot.

I know a lot of people are thinking blown head gasket, but the smoke and liquid leaking from the tail pipe smell like raw un-burnt fuel.

I noticed also that when I turn the car off, there is like 1 second in which the car does not shut off right away like it did before this incident.

I am thinking I have a fuel injector that is stuck open.

Anyone have any opinions or can help me with this issue?

Sounds like you are on the right path, with the injector stuck open.

Yea, thanks for your input. I just ordered 6 Fuel injectors so I can swap them out.

Do you know if the process is similar to this one here http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/maxima ... ement.html

Going to end up doing it myself. or is there anything else I should do while im in there. Already have a knock sensor ready to swap out as well.
