So I was driving my car at lunch today, came back popped the hood and light bits of smoke where coming out from underneath the heat shield from the trubo? It looked like when you pour water on a campfire that type of puffy smoke. What could that be? If the ceramic in the RB25 turbo was breaking up could that be the cause, or could it possiably be a coolant line running into the trubo, that came loose?

He might check the dipstick if he knew how...

How much smoke is it? Do you have any smoke coming out of the exhaust? A little more info will help diagnose.

If there's a lot of smoke coming from your exhaust there's a good chance you blew your head gasket... considering you're pushing 15lbs on a stock head gasket, with a tune for 8lbs...

First question...are you really running 15 psi?

Second question...If so, WTF are you thinking running?

End of thread.

if ur running 15lbs ur headgasket isnt gonna jsut blow, also if ur running 15lbs and running it to its max alot, you did most likley blow the turbo due to the fact there not suppose to go to or past 14lbs, thats just my guess

I was saying he may have popped his head gasket due to the fact that I understand he runs it pretty hard, and it's not a good tune. It is definitely a better chance that he blew his turbo though, yes.

Was the car running when you popped the hood and saw the smoke? Or did you already shut the car off? Just wondering, again could yield different opinions...

check coolant lines on the turbo to make sure nothing happened to them..
