Two days ago I was driving my and I heard one of my belts making a funny noise and smoke that smell like water coming out of the top right side near the intake mondifold. Well I replaced my belts and the noise is gone now. But it smoke earlier after I to it for a spin down the highway. Well I pulling into my paint shop and the was smoke coming from under the hood again. Well I got to looking around under hood and I tightened down the hose clamps. As I was tighting down the Hoses. i noticed that one of the hose was leaking alot of water under the intake man.; So I top off my raditor with water and watched to see if the water continued to flow out. It did, but the wierd thing is that the car not smoking anymore and it not showing like it's over heating. It just have a weird smell coming from under the hood now. Any idea of what could be wrong.

Some of your sentences make my head hurt...thanks. Anyway you should be putting a 50/50 mix of water and anti-freeze, not straight water, unless your broke or in an emergency. Your most likely leaking coolant or in your case water from the hoses going into your heater core (what lets you have heat in your car).

There shouldn't be any other coolant lines under your hood, with the exception of your main hoses, but I could be wrong, I see cars all day and its hard to remember locations for everything. Now what kind of smell are you smelling? Is it sweet, rubber, burning? Be a little more specific. I'll take a shot in the dark and say its a sweet smell, since your probably burning off any water/coolant that's left laying around in your bay or on your motor.

unfortunately on the ka24e and de in stock form have about 6 rubber hoses for coolant that run all over the intake manifold to aid in heating that massive chunk of aluminum on cold winter days and cooling (??!!!) it on hot summer days. I know this because i just finished removing almost all of them while doing my swap. any number of these could leak and cause you to experience the white smoke when it boiled off. have it checked out by a mechanic or check out the FSM in the cooling section but i have to warn you thay are a b***h to get to. also the ka series motors are very sensitive to overheating so its very important to get this taken care of because it can lead to a bad head gasket quite quickly.

I found the problem. There's a in crack in the water outlet pipe. So now I got to track down the part. But for the time beening I get the pipe welded at a locale shop. Anyone know where I can track the part down at? besides the junk yard.
