Just a few weeks ago I noticed that there was smoke coming from my air vents in my car. It smells like an electrical burning of some sort , and the smoke is a bit oily. And when I turn the air on full blast hella smoke starts to come out. Also when I turn the ac control to cold it just spits out hot air like as if it were on the hot side.

Please help. Thank you.

I had the same problem in my S13.

Turns out the transmission was leaking straight onto the exhaust pipe, makes a lot of smoke in the vents, gauges, and shift boot. Look into it!

Hmm, not a mechanic mind you, but I've had a similar problem, my previous car which shall remain unidentified, blew up quite literally it's heater core, and while no fluid made it cabin side, the darn thing did pour out loads and loads of smoke as it began to over heat. Turns out the thermostat had cuased that particular malfunction, and if any of my 2 AM rambling helps, that might be something to look at espesially if the car is having overheating problems....

thanks alot guys! It was the heater core that went out. I realized it when I saw antifreeze dripping behind the glove compartment. Nothing smells better that burning antifreeze!!
