smoggin a sr in CA.

hey y im lookin into this before i do my install. IN in CA. i have a 1990 240sx just passed smog with my ka so i have 2 years. do i have to take it to a smog only cuz its older than 10 years? and does anyone know of any friendly shops?? im in L.A. area

Yes you will have to do a smog check even when it is 10 years old I think cars from 1973 and older are the only ones not required to be smogged here in California. The Test Only smog is biannual so in 2 years with SR or KA you WILL have to smog again. Most people who do the swap are serious racers and know of all consequences before they actually do the swap. its called the 200 dollar smog test and im in LA im doing my SR swap in south el monte by abcd the guys over there are really good and cool guys! one of the best prices ive gotten

yeah I'm getting screwed up here due to the 300-500 smog checks for the sr. thus I'll do the smog before the sr to buy me some time to shop around.
