move to tennessee. we don't have any smog rules. you can have a cloud of blue smoke behind you and if they ever do pass smog laws 1/2 of the state won't be able to drive.

I sure as hell wouldnt. Its a federal offence for a smog shop to do it thats why they charge extra, to get something for the risk. I love my fellow 240sx people but not enough to loose my shop and spend some time in jail.

Thanks for the heads up virus77. Nowadays, with smog certificates, it is very easy to get caught up as a consumer and get burned. Make sure you go to a registered smog shop. And, ask the smog tech for some advice on passing visual inspection. Any smog tech can instantly fail a car based on visual inspection alone.

California Consumers Beware: Do not go in yourselves and present any smog certificates when registering your vehicles. You don't want to get caught with that hot potato.
