So i searched and cannot find a solution to my problem.

1993 hatch, Kade.Stock-ish; high flow fuel pump, adjustable fpr.

I have to pass smog by the end of the month otherwise.... well no more 240 for awhile. Any who, i took it to a smog place and he pretested it numerous times on three separate visits.

First time, Really high HC levels:put an adjustable fpr on it, lowered hc levels alot.

Second time, fairly high hc and NOx:Messed with fpr, new cap, new rotor, new plugs, new wires, cleaned MAF. helped, but not enough.

Third time, low levels overall, but still not enough to pass:New o2, leaning out the fuel, still has too much hc levels...

so my question is, what else can i do to help my emissions?sensors? new coil? id like to narrow it down to a few things...

thanks

why dont you just return it to stock for the smog?posting a VIR(printout of your gases) would help too

well it is back to stock except for the pump and fpr. my original pump went bad, so i got the pump off my parts car (didnt know it was high flow until i looked at it) and then there was too much fuel going to the stock fpr, so i got a circuit sports adjustable one.

Being really strapped for cash, im trying to figure out what i can try to see if it helps.

i cant post a VIR because the guy i went to kept pretesting it and not official smog test. all i know are rough estimates.

im going to another shop today to see if i can bypass my egr. they said it can help me pass smog. i doubt it, but ill see.

first thing you should do is remove that adj fpr and high flow pump. put it fully back to stock. that should do it.

bypassing the egr will make you fail for other reasons. try adjusting the fuel pressure to the stock pressure specs. also, you can still get a printout of a pretest. that garanteed to pass stuff is a gimick. most of it is just 15-40 or 20-50 oil to seal the rings better on engines that are old and have massive blow by.

see if your shop can to a co reduction test and a cranking co2 test on the cat. whats your fuel pressure at or are you just shooting in the dark?

i bought my car with no emisions at all, not even a cat, so do you think that stuff will still work? and you take the smog test at the inspection right? ive also heard in nj if you fail smog you have to bring it to a mechanic to fix it.
