Smog help! passed snifer then failed same day

So this morning I took my car to smog and passed with flying colors(like better that a prius) then the jerk smog tech failed me for having a vac line unhooked... He didnt like me because he pulled the car onto the dino forward and I had to tell him its rwd... So later I take it to a different smog place and only fail nox but its 1000 over!!! what would cause this... oh ya also all my smog stuff is all fake and unfunctional... But it still passed the sniffer the first time very good? so what could the prob be? exhaust leak? california smog

If you read your post you may find your answer. however you can make a fake vacuum hose that appears to be connected but not and try again, or hook up your devices and try again.

got the car to pass today... whent from being 1361 on the nox to being 8... and thats with no smog equipment!! just cat...I ran the car super hard before going and I have a perfect tune
