smells like gas

I just noticed that my s13 240 se smells like gas on the outside. It's not leaking and the gas cap is secured. the same time my engine runs cold (1 bar). my car runs at a low idle (500 rpm). are all these caused by one thing? help me please, thanks!

is it coming from the engine bay area?? i would start sniffing around your fuel injectors, and your rubber fuel lines. i had a cracked incoming fuel line to my fuel filter. just start sniffin!!

check the fuel injectors, it happened to me too. The seals on the injectors broke.

if its a ka24E (89-90) than its 95% likely that its your fuel injector seals. Its a known problem so get it fixed asap because the fuel will puddle on your intake manifold and it creates a very dangerous condition.My 89 was leaking in the rubber lines at the fuel pump a while ago too though, but that was also an easy fix. If its fuel line, make sure you replace it with high pressure fuel line for fuel injection. Most parts stores only stock the cheap stuff for carburetors.
