smell something burn when start up engine

I have 1997 q45. When I start the engine, I smell something burned( like rubber but not so sure). This doesn't happen while driving or stopping at traffic light. It happens when the engine is cold in the morning as well as after driving for a while then park. Any idea ? Thanks in advance.

Any noises to go along with the smell...like a frozen belt tensioner pulley?

Thanks goody90q45 for quick response. I don't notice any strange noises right now, but I had heard some noise a while back when I started the engine. If I remember correctly, when it happened during that time, it happened only during start up the engine. I remember it happened in the morning, but I don't remember if it also happened after I drove for a while then parked and started the engine again. I am not sure if they are related. Is there anything I can take a look under the hood, something that easy to see ? I don't have much knowledge about car. Thanks for your help.
