The other day i was putting my car inside the garage and i rubbed my passenger door against the the right side of the garage door!! it turns out theres about a forearm length of white paint on my passenger door from the wooden garage frame...i tried wiping it off with a towel and got the easy stuff off but theres still about a forearm length of white "smeared" paint on my door...does ANYONE know how to approach this?? I need to know the best technique to do this so i don't **** up my paint...any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks.

If it didn't eat away @ ur paint and just essentially added a layer, all you'd have to do is a clay, polish/buff, & wax job.

A porter cable (random orbiter) makes the job a lot easier - mite as well do the whole car now, hahaha.

You can check out tutorials on forums @ meguairsonline.com.

Yes you want to use some "cut polish" to remove any light scuffs or anything on top of your paint (EG. garage paint) then finish off with a good quality wax to protect the finish. As a rule of thumb any scratches you can feel with a finger nail will not cut polish out completely without burning through the clear and colour coat.I hope this helps, good luck.

you can problem just clay it out, or buff it out by hand. Go to the store and get some swirl free polish from meguires. Its solve your problem. After that make sure that it was just a swear...

Have you ever heard of goof-off. Its like paint thinner and it takes of stuff like that. go to your local parts store, they should have it. Put a little on a rag and the paint will come right off. Just have another rag handy so you can wipe the excess of.
